The East Bengal senior team thrashed the Satosh Trophy winner, the Bengal team. During a closed-door practice match on Tuesday, East Bengal won the match with a crashing 4-0 margin.
The match was a preparatory phase to nurture the players’ physical strength and to reflect on their growing weakness before ISL. However, today’s match saw the absence of Anwar Ali in their defense lineup, as he was injured severely and might take a week to recover. As well as the match being commenced without Saúl Crespo, it is speculated that he is suffering through a minor injury.
East Bengal has effectively terminated their contracts with their two foreign strikers, as Hamid’s departure from the elite club has been finalized, and their Japanese striker, Hirosi, has been seen missing from the practice for the past two days.
